It’s that time of year again! It’s time to start thinking of your goals for 2018! Now, while most (if not all) women had some major weight loss goals this year – there was another common denominator when it comes to things you guys wanted to accomplish in 2017.
Yes, I said it! A lot of you guys wanted expressed your desire to read more.
Now – I get it. The kids take up a lot of time. Your husband wants your undivided attention. Work is doing the most. And juggling all this while trying to keep up with the Kardashians – is just tew much.
But don’t worry, girlfriend. I hooked you guys up with some good reads to start your 2018 off right. You guys have been on this blogging ride with me from the beginning which means you are officially family. And as know – Ohana means family. And family means no body gets left behind or forgotten.
As you guys know – I mentor teen/pre-teen girls at my church. They always keep me up to date with the latest trends and celebrity news. But when they began to tell me stories of girls in their school (some as young as 13) getting pregnant – I knew that I had to do something. I ran into this gem at the store and bought it for one of my teens who began talking about the “s” word this week. It was perfect and if you know a girl this age – this would be perfect for her too!
An oldie but a goodie! For the woman needing an extra umph in order to accomplish her dreams – thank me later. I met Lisa Bevere at a women’s conference a couple of years ago – and little did I know that this book would change me life. Lisa effortlessly describes the charcteristics of a lioness – and why she is vital to her kingdom. Purpose, passion, and prowess – Lioness Arising brings a fresh view to discovering your purpose.
Shoutout to the moms that are doing the dang thing! If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my sister-in-law , it’s that you guys really hold the fort down. I mean, raising a whole OTHER human, while you don’t necessarily feel like adulting – can be tough! So this one’s for you. Pressing Pause is perfect for the mom that loves Jesus but needs to be reminded that quiet moments are good too.
Ben Stuart does it again! I recently heard a podcast where Ben hit some awesome points for those who are stepping into the dating scene again. Being a single Christian nowadays comes with some major pressure. And it’s easy to get swayed if you’re not anchored. Single, Dating, Engaged, Married helps you refocus on what’s really important when it comes to the union between a man and a woman. If you think you don’t need this book – you probably do. But don’t worry. I was too prideful to admit I needed help with this whole dating thing too, girl. But trust me, you’ll love this one.
Let’s start preparing for 2018 together. It’s going to be a year of elevation. And I don’t want anyone left behind.
Until next time,
